Tatton Spiller
FOUNDER
Tatton has been simplifying politics all his adult life. Much of that was during ten years of teaching English, Politics and Citizenship.
He had a brief step away from teaching from 2008 until 2011, working briefly as a journalist and doing education bits at the Houses of Parliament.
He grew increasingly frustrated that nothing like SP existed. So he created it. SP launched in 2015.
Diane Daniels
SOCIALS GURU
Diane joined Simple Politics to work on the 2019 General Election. She loved it and stayed.
She worked for many years in financial communications, which gives her lots of experience in making complex things much easier to understand.
A restless soul, she’s originally from Northern Ireland, by way of Leeds University and some time in Nottingham. She now lives in beautiful Devon.
Emma Thorne

Launching a new chapter in 2026, Emma presides over all things partnerships. By working with amazing people from the best brands, she’s guaranteeing our future, while ensuring we’re keeping you informed.

Roberta
UNDISPUTED MONEY SAVING QUEEN
While Team SP were dreaming of Simple Money, Roberta was out there doing it for real. Cheap holidays? Money off the mortgage? Budget meals? All that and more.
She’s all about hearing people’s voices. Bringing them onto the page, onto the podcast. Listening.
If you’ve lost her, she can normally be found watching Hull City – Premier League 2026/27!
Lily
SOCIALS BUTTERFLY
Lily is some kind of social media genius. She’s worked on campaigns for various corporates, but the team don’t hold that against her.
She’s also an acting machine. BAFTA paid for her acting school. Her short film (written, directed and starring her) has been shown at Cannes and the BFI.
She is allergic to lilies.
Lottie Smith
PODCAST SUPREMO
She’s worked for BAFTA. Imagine how good at film you have to be to have worked on filming stuff BAFTA.
Lottie joined SP in 2024 to kick start our adventures on film.
She now has the difficult job of wrestling the meandering conversations between Diane and Tatton into the multi-award winning Simple Politics Podcast.
