Parliament is back in the game on Monday. It hasn't been a restful period for some. Elections, Big Vote, Steel & the Panama Papers have all seen to that. It's going to be a busy session in Parliament, too. Plenty of laws need to be finished by mid May - anything not complete by then goes in the bin. Don't worry though. We'll keep you (and any of your friends / colleagues you send our way) in the loop all the way through.
Energy Bill [HL]
This will protect the North Sea’s oil and gas industry and develop cost-efficient ways for trapping the carbon dioxide that comes from burning fossil fuels.
The most controversial part of the Bill is the plan to end subsidies for onshore wind farms - the Lords deleted this clause but the Government put it back in. The Lords will respond next week.
